Has anyone see INFAMOUS?
Its the new film on Truman Capote formulating his book, InColdBlood.
Not to be confused w/ last year's CAPOTE.

A bit more colorful & flamboyant but descends into very much the same film as Truman wrestles w/ his demons & becomes too involved w/ his subjects. I think it also tried to show how he would later alienate all his friends by exploiting them in a book as well.

Nice cast w/ SAndra Bullock, SigournyWeavey, Daniel Craig, Jeff Daniels,PeterBogdonovich, Isabella Rossellini & Gwynth Paltrow.

MrBern, you and I talked about this a while ago. I saw the trailer for this movie. Seeing how I hated Capote, I would not pay to see this one. [huh]
It might be a Netflix movie but I doubt it.:)

I didn't see Capote. Was it bad?

Toby Jones is uncanny as Capote, much more Capote-like than PSHoffman.

Capote was a great writer, one of the best America has ever produced, and his talent was squandered post In Cold Blood.

Apropos of nothing whatsoever: Have you ever read Hand-Carved Coffins?

I agree, won't see. I have no homophobias, but Truman Capote had gay over tones, or something else, was a creepy little guy, his mannerism, and that high pitched voice, I once saw an interview with Dick Cavett, strange, weird man. When “In Cold Blood” it was a violent book and film at the time. Not something I’d pay to see or enjoy seeing either, he might have been a good writer but…

I am not know if the movie was a strict biography of Capote so my comments refer more to the film character than the person.
Capote seemed so selfish and despicable that I wondered what was the point of me watching this movie? I was not interested in whether or not he ever finished his "great novel". His dismissive attitude towards friends and colleagues disgusted me. I found nothing redeeming about him. If it is true he created the true crime novel genre I guess that is something. [huh]
I enjoyed In Cold Blood more than Capote.

btw, is Hand-Carved Coffins a Capote novel?

A short story. Very creepy.

His novels The Grass Harp and Breakfast at Tiffany's are both well worth reading (short too, whereas In Cold Blood is the size of a Dagwood sandwhich).

The film of In Cold Blood was great work. I don't think Richard Brooks was ever better.

I would love to hear Capote converse w/ Mike Tyson & Michael jackson.
It'd probably sound likea girl's slumber party.

I believe I'll pass till it's on TV for free. Even though it was decent, I had quite enough with Capote, thanx!:)

Any more for me there are 2 types of movies 1. I'll get out and pay to see that 2. I wouldn't pay to see that But there's probably a 3rd which is 3. I wouldn't bother to go to the theater if it was free[huh]
