I'd say it's probably due to the litigiousness of today's world :)

Well, by all indications the HJ poet is coming from the same factory as the current Christy's Adventurer, just with a different liner and sweat. Many folks on COW have reported that the Adventurer has shrunk and tapered badly in slightly inclement weather.

Had a few new photos of my Indy hats to share. Here's my Adventurebilt Crystal Skull after 3 years, 3 seasons of archaeological excavations, and one re-blocking (to the shorter style of the "quicksand" and jungle scenes):

My Penman Gray Crystal Skull fedora (from the train station scene):

And the newest addition: a custom-made Indy Milan Straw hemp fedora from Peters Bros.

Nebraska, all your Indy hats are great, but I'm always fastenated by the Peters Bros straw ones.

I wonder if anyone blocks regular coloured Panamas into the classic Indy style? That would make a super summer hat.

I have just one fedora, it is an Indy and I do like it. Also purchased my first big boy coat( Trench Coat) a couple of weeks ago. Big Boy Hat to keep my head warm and Big Boy Coat to keep from freezing my butt off. I am 64, guess it is never too late to get Big Boy clothes. I find my self drawn to vintage stuff, but at my age and stage in life I dress more classic, a pair of Levis 501's and an aloha shirt. I have no need to really get dressed up any more, I am retired. I do have some really nifty pens going all the way back to the early part of the 20th century and have pens owned by my dad, my grand father and great grand father, and also their straight razors. I will not try the straight razors as I have a real penchant for nicking myself. A straight razor might be death by 1000 cuts. Also enjoy the forums and reading and learning from you guys.
BTW what is COW?

Just arrived - Adventurebilt.

I've always liked the idea of a grey Indy hat - even had one on order from John Penman, but I switch to his Casablanca model instead.

Then when I discovered that Steve Delk was still taking orders for hats, I ordered one him him, the rabbit version. A while later, I upgraded the order to his beaver felt version and the hat has arrived!

The shot of the underside of the brim is the closest to the actual colour. I think the felt is Winchester's Granite.

Grand hats, Gentlemen! This is my humble variety of the breed which I bought as an everyday beater: The Christy´s of London Adventurer in steel grey. Not as highclass as an AB or Fed but a steal for under 60 Euros. I like it a lot and a Fed IV might follow some day.
