In terms of overall comfort and durability, which would you recommend? At first I was leaning toward the Aldens, but after a bit of sifting, my opinion is swaying slowly to the White's. I need a good, extremely comfortable and durable boot for anything from hiking through the mud, to walking around work and running errands. I don't care how close to the movie they are, either. Just quality and practicality. Sorry if this was already covered. I've seen snippets here and there, but never a definitive side by side comparison of the two. Any pictures of your most horribly abused pairs of the aforementioned boots are also appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
flute

And bartenders, if this was already discussed, feel free to shut this down, and I'll look harder.

Yes, there are several threads on the subject already

Here's one:

Another one, which is long:

If I had to choose between the two, I'd go with White's semi-dress... Fortunately, I didn't have to choose between the two, so I have both :D

Seriously, I like semi-dress better. Not that the Indy's boots are not good... But for comfort & durability, semi-dress wins by a large margin. Also, one complaint I have about the Indy 405 is the fact that the tounge tends to move a bit, because of the design. A simple solution might be to stitch the tounge to the body of the boots at a couple of points.

Hope this helps,
