Absolutely! Blue & grey go very well together.
Although a black & white image Fred shows us it can be done.

And of course the Classic Raiders Washington look.

RBH: Thanks R! Most appreciated. :)

Matt: Ken's do come non-dimensional. He'll only do a dimensional cut upon request for such.

Cheers!

Excellent looking fedora, i've been trying to get ahold of one like that for ages. The ones i own are not the quality i'd like and the actual brim seems too "thick" if that makes any sense.

The big issue of course, is the price and durability? how much did it go for. I'm all for getting a fine hat, but i'm not looking above the 60 dollar price range unless i know the hat is extremely durable aside from being high quality.

Maguire: Ken's are currently $175. The quality is A++ and the durability is fantastic. Like I said before, a dress hat that can double as an adventure hat. For $175 you can't ask for better. You won't be able to find much in the $60 range that will be quality/durable hats unless you get real lucky on e-bay. And those are few & far between. Give Ken at Camptown a jingle and let him know what you're looking for.

Cheers!

He also wears a gray one at the beginning when he first gets the ok to go get the Ark. I think he is on the plane going to Nepal to see Marion. (never noticed that before but I just watched Raiders this weekend with the kids)

I just watched Temple again the other night (BBC are broadcasting all three films here in the run up to the release of Crystal Skull). I noticed that in the scenes where he is not in his adventuring gear, he appears not to have bothered with a hat at all (though possibly it was with the hat check girl in Club Obi Wan, and he did not have the time to collect it given the necessity of his rather hasty exit.... and in Pankot he isn't outside at all when not in adventuring clothes...). Seems to me that in Raiders they were maybe a little more 'realistic' with the idea of him having (an)other hat(s), but when they came to making the sequels, the borwn hat had become so iconic that they didn't feel they could have him in anything else.... (Note that at the start of Last Crusade, he is dressed in brown tones at the university, so the brown hat matches right in there). The moment, I think, where the brown hat really became inseperable was in Temple, when he reaches back under the rapidly descending stone door and snatches the hat out with him. C/f this to the hat and jacket being casually dumped for the Wehrmacht uniform in the sub base sequence in Raiders. I'm intrigued that they appear to have him in a grey hat in this film.... I imagine this is to signify that he has aged, moved on, and no longer adventures..... at least, not until he is tempted out of adventuring retirement one last time, and he reaches into the back of the wardrobe for his iconic costume, truly becoming Indiana Jones again....

So if I bought a Grey fedora, would it be alright to wear with a Navy Blue suit?

As several posts have already said.... of course. Personally, I would be of the opinion that a mid or lighter silver-grey is the absolute best colour going to complement a navy suit. I love the look of a navy coloured fedora with a blazer and trousers, but to my eye when it's a full navy suit, to omuch of the one colour can look cheap and 'costumey.' The lighter grey tones set off a dark navy suit beautifully - especially pin/chalkstriped.

The dimensional brim is actually an extra charge from Camptown. Standard is 2-7/8 or 3 inches all around, can't remember.

Hello all - just trying to answer the questions asked. My dimensional cuts, etc. are typically extra but included for free at least till June 30 for FL members. My non-D brim is 2 7/8 on the Metro gray, and will be 3 on the Model 1957 gray. I can cut down the non-D brim or cut any brim dimensionally.

I love Art's, Steve's and Grahams work, as well as my own. I don't think you could go wrong with any of them (us?) ;)

With thank
Ken

^Indeed, we are blessed with an increasing number of good hatting options. Where the hat corporations have failed us the skilled entrepreneur has stepped in.

Ken, I'm looking forward to seeing the new line of hats being posted here and at COW from all your happy customers. Keep up the good work!

I must be the only one here that loves brown hats with navy suits.

It's a great look, although I would probably do it only when wearing brown shoes rather than black. Of course, I usually wear brown shoes with navy during the day.

Whereas I will mix brown, black, and blue with great abandon. Learned that from Han Solo.
