Sometimes, using my Mac with Safari will get me "you aren't allowed to see this" error msgs when there's obviously no reason. Temporarily using another browser to view the same item clears it right up.
I don't think the folks who design eBay's website are always using universal standards, but rather, writing to optimize for a particular combination of software - a practice only slightly more treacherous then the need to dial the area code before a local call....
