in search of Homburg

I am looking for a black trad homburg in size 7 1/4. Could someone direct me in finding one. Been looking online and found a couple, though I would see if I missed anything. Looking for something in the Dobbs, Biltmore, Beaver vein vintage or new, but new would probably be more realistic. Need it for a wedding on the 13th. Plus I just want a good Homburg to wear around. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Funny, I have been looking at Black Homburgs, too. Thanks for the link. That price is hard to beat, but I don't know anything about Beaver Brand. Although for $85, I have to suspect that no beavers were harmed in the production of these hats.

Here is what I have come up with so far:

Christy's has an open crown black Homburg. http://hornetshats.com/f_hatview.php?link=Fur%20Felts I have a Christys Explorer. It is not a bad hat for the money, but it is not top quality. The Christys offers the lowest price of this bunch.

Next in order of price are the Miller's Hats Homburgs.http://www.millerhats.com/homburg_index/homburg2.html Before you loose your lunch at some of the awful colors, let me tell you that a few of these models are available in black. I am not certain who makes these. The brim is a bit wide for my taste.

Finally, we come to my favorite, thus far. Naturally, it is the most expensive. It is a Stetson Homburg, also sold by Miller's Hats. http://www.millerhats.com/stdress_index/stetsondress3.htm

That is what I have found so far. And as I can't pony up for the Stetson yet, my search continues. If anyone has any opinions or experience with any of these hats, or other suggestions, I am interested.

Thanks for all the posts. I looked at the 85$ Beaver at hats plus but it was out of stock, which I kind of expected. The Argentine hat is cool but no size detail. I emailed them. hopefully they can tell me the size available. My wife is from Argentina and they do make good stuff down there. I'll probably pick up the Akubra or one of the Miller hats. The Akubra has an interesting shape. Sort of tapered in the back. Great price. People seem to really like them. Thanks again for the posts. TC
