Loungers, through a combination of chance and will, I swapped my entire Aero collection in a matter of weeks recently. Here it is now. Let me know what you think. Am I almost there? Sadly, I think I need to adjust the Stockman. I asked for the armholes to be slightly raised, which has made the jacket too constricting; at some expense, I may have to have new arms put on! Sir J

I think they all look very good. Yes the stockmans arms are a little short, but they work.

The halfbelt looks great but my favourite is the m422. What is the mods you have done besides altering the back and pockets? A complete specification list would be apreciated. I have sought after one of these for a long time now and it looks so nice on you!!!

The 30's HB is the pick of the litter for me.

They all three look good. The Stockman sleeves, as noted, are a bit short, but, only because we're looking hard for details. Thanks for sharing pics; it is always a pleasure to look at Aero jackets.

Sir J, the all three look stellar. I find interesting such a great fitting halfbelt was found on the sale page. Perhaps we all do fret over the little things too much (nah!)

Gang, by how much do you think I need to lengthen the Stockman sleeves? If I'm going to replace them I might as well get everything right.

Well played sir. Nice to see some humor injected into photos. Great batch. About the sleeves. Maybe 1"-1.5". You can feel and judge. The others are great. Use that as your baseline.

Maybe a stupid question, but how would you lengthen the sleeves? Send the jacket back to Aero and have them add a section on to the end of the existing sleeve? I had that done with a Barbour Waxed Cotton jacket, but I'm not sure about leather jackets.

HEy there, great pictures of a set of even greater jackets. I love the HB and the Anj-3...fit, finish and details look amazing. Who told you that olive knits might look good? Good idea that!
A set of classy jackets and some nice mug shots as well. Thanks for posting. Those might be a good reference for people looking for trimmer Aeros...

Thanks, Jan. Yes, you did embolden me to "go olive" -- much appreciated. Poster above seems to think it was a crime against naval jackets, however. Thoughts?

After quite a bit of experience with Aeros now, I always go for the trimmer cut. Horsehide is just so heavy (if beautiful), I find, you don't want any extra at all.

I thought I might finally have satiated my Aero cravings but no. Now I realise I need a 38 contract A2 and a teamster.

The sleeves are a bit on the short side but I don't think that you will have to send the jacket in for alteration. We're only talking about an inch or so.
Simply wet the sleeves with a spray bottle and hot water (don't forget the lining). Gently pull the sleeves to increase their length but make sure there is no stress on the shoulder seam. (One hand on cuff, the other should grip the sleeve on the upper sleeve portion) After that put the jacket on. Pull and shape the sleeves even more while wearing and let the jacket air dry on your body. It does work!!

Cheers, Jan. I'll give it a try. The only thing is that I asked for the arm holes to be slightly raised and they're too raised! You can feel them pinching the arm pit (if you really want to know) and it makes it to constricting to wear a jumper.

I'm almost certain that this would work. But you have to make sure to work carefully. Avoid stress on seams and use hot water for the spray bottle. Don't forget to wet the lining as well.
