In Need of Leather

I have a chair upholstery project underway and while the seat back is fabric-covered, the seat will likely be done in leather - IF I can find some. Ebay seems iffy: though I only need about 9 sq. feet, and you can get such a small amount cheaply, the colors are hard to judge and it would be quite a gamble sight unseen.

Anyone have a source for inexpensive russet/brown leather hide in 2-3oz weight? Cow, goat or bison is fine. Lamb may be too lightweight to hold up to abuse.

Try Bruetten's at: http://www.brettunsvillage.com/leather/ They have all kinds of odd lots, with leather of all types, colors and finishes. If you don't see something that appeals to you, send them an email or call them. They have lots of stock that isn't listed online. Good luck with your search!
