Hello to the people of FL.

This post is about me being thankful to the people that shared their time and patience to answer my sometimes 'silly' questions. It's not easy to find people like this these days, when everyone is so focused on their 'own thing'. My biggest thanks goes to @belfastboy . He has been an amazing guide in my journey in hatmaking. Other honorable mentions are @T Jones , @59Lark , @deadlyhandsome , @humanshoes and others. Guys, I thank you.

So these are the 3 hats I've made so far, with all their flaws, I still love them. Hope you will like them aswell.

Good to see your progress. I love the liner material you are using and your creativity....gives your hats a signature look. Next step now is to start making them for other people. I found the stress of making a hat for someone else, to their specifications the best way to push me to improve. It was no longer about satisfying myself....now I had to satisfy someone else who was paying me money to make the hat. Keep up the great work.

kudos; thinks that is the right word, whereas i have worked with sewing machines for 40 yrs, that is not a project i would tackle at my age, noted i had the moulds and the equipment and a spinner in the basement. I sold all but the brass circular hat ruler and one stretcher, to jane who does the costumers for Murdochs mysterys tv show, who does all the hats except for williams homburg which is custom ordered from Germany, i believe. Congratulations , whereas i am teaching my eldest daughters my trade , there are far too many trades , like hatmaking not being passed along. Only this week, i ordered three fedoras, at cost from a very old Canadian firm and it was $534. ca . and thats cost. My eldest daughter spends big money on bicycles, and my addiction is a fedora, i dont own a baseball hat, or a t shirt, or a pair of jeans. So young man be encouraged and keep making hats, all the trades in my life that i have learned have been taught to me by old men. My high school shop teacher colin campbell who taught me a lot was a engineer on the avro arrow project. My trade was taught to me by herb tripp, and Lawrence alexander ridsdale., Thank you for the thank you mike 59lark.
