I'm sending my jacket off to have some work done

I just got off the phone with Steve.
He had this leather in stock which is exactly what I had in mind.

I couldn't really get the paw patrol comment out of my head though, and I started thinking that the shield shape would ultimately be larger and more attention drawing so I settled on a less obtrusive oval.
The bone on top with the 3 paw prints in a row underneath.
I wanted to do something special that adds a little additional pop to my jacket, but not so much that it really stands out.
I think this will look the best, and it'll follow in line with the old school oval uniform name patches that I like to put on my work jackets.

The original quoted total back to my door was $89, and while I was willing to pay more there was no additional charge for the additional work involved with the added leather.
$65 for the work, $24 return shipping.

Steve sent me this mockup today.

It looks fine and I almost went with it, but told him I really wanted the patches first sewn to a patch of leather then to the jacket.

He said he will see what he has in the range of a tobacco or medium brown and check back with me.

My initial thought was the shield shape with the paw prints in this arrangement, but now I am thinking of an oval with the 3 paw prints in a straight row under the bone.
I rather have a pitbull head sillhouette
And then add stripes or the first alphabeth of their name underneath with acrylic or oil paint, i would put these more cartoony patches on the back panel of a trucker denim jacket, or on the crown of a baseball cap, but not on leather jacket. Personally

The problem with this is that most you will find are the stereotypical tough pitbull image with cropped ears and a spike collar.
look for decals, T shirts, patches...etc and that's what you'll find.
Besides if I did find one that wasn't it would still be an image of another dog.
I don't have ideal images of all 3 and am not going to have a custom embroidered patch made of just one of my pups.

What I have chosen, for me is most ideal and I like the route I chose.

Ok, i mean if you use pitbull image from dog breed cataloque or from vetenarian pictures there must be many un cut pitbull, and from that you can ask someone to paint just its silhouette, and then maybe on an imaginary circle around the silhouette you can add their names maybe only 3 now and you can add more later.

Its just an idea, because to me embroidered patch on a shield base and on top of a leather chest panel would be heavy look stiff and very 3 dimensional and to me look like a clutter especially since you already have something added on the other side that is also something 3 dimensional, however on denim jacket this embroidery patch looks more blending because the texture is closer, but it's your choice of course you have your own view, good luck

If you sew on shield base on chest region make sure you sew it away from area affected by shoulder movement so either closer to main zip or lower than the armpit, i have 2 leather jackets with shield patch pocket on chest region.
Or move it to upper sleeve perhaps

I like the sleeve idea and the silhouette.
The paw prints remind me of our local sports team the Tigers. It doesn't lead me to think it is a K9. The silhouette defines the majestic animal, not to be confused with a cat.

I had a vision and comitted to it.

I don't expect this to be the coolest thing ever, it's not going to look like a vintage flight jacket with theater art or a jacket owned by a badass biker who rode a million miles in it.

That's why I went with a bone , then the 3 paw prints to represent each pup which can also occasionally remind me of the cats I've had throughout the years.

This is my last cat Thumper, she was a Manx / Bobcat mix with such a wild instinct and personality.

She was a great cat that I miss after disappearing one day, but the bond with my cats was just never quite the same as it has been with my pups.

I think it's pretty cool. You're showing your love for your family in a unique way. Hell, if that's not cool, I think I would want to be the least cool person on the planet. My doofus of a German Shepherd would agree with me, I think.

If your going with k9 paw prints it should look more like this. The middle toes close together. The outside toes more of a triangle. The ones in your sample sketch look more like feline cat tracks.

I like it as bedo laid it out.

It's noteworthy but subtle. The more loud you get with it, the more likely it is to veer into goofy territory.

Also, bedo is a repair guy. As far as I know, not a designer/artist. If you ask him to make custom emblems and such you're probably getting out of his zone of competency.

Another idea is to have a brass dog tag for each pet. Use the top line for the pets name. The middle line for the breed. And the bottom line for the birthday or years the dog lived.
Attach the brass bars to your sleeve. Oldest dog on top, 2nd dog below, new dog on the bottom.
Personalized for each pet rather than random paw prints.
If you wanted to attach them to an arm shield it wouldn't look like paw patrol.
