Im looking for some vintage style jeans, who makes a good repro?

what brand is the most authentic vintage style jeans?

color, pattern, fit, etc?

Ive never seen real vintage jeans, were they full cut? boot cut? straight leg? etc?

each maker made them different. Take levis 501 for instance... they varied throughout the years. a pair of 1947's are trim, while 1955's are full, 1966 are back to trim.

I like the LEVI's with the full cut as made during the mid 1950's

The fullest cut Levis repos I have are the 1929 greenline 201s. Both the 37 201s and 501s are very full cut also. Theys have a buckle back leather tag and the 29s have blackened doughnut buttons and oilcloth tag. These show up on e-bay from time to time. The best of the Levis Repros in my opinion are the once made ar Valencia street factory which closed a few years back. If you can get the 1937 201s they are made from the same red line XX denim the 1937 501s are made from. This denim is like nothing you find on modern jeans. The stuff thats really different is the greenline denim on the 1929s, This stuff is just incredible. Heres a few photos of some of the different LVC jeans.
First the 1929s These were deadstock when new and this was after a couple months wear and one cold water rinse .

These are the 1937 redline 201s. I have two pairs of the same size. The were made in San Francisco in 1996 at the original Valencia factory. One has only a rinse and the others are well worn. It will give you an idea of how they age.

Here are a pair of 1933 501s. These have thinner XX redline 10 oz the 37s are 13.5 oz. Notice the NRA tag below the leather tag and the exposed pocket rivets. These are also well worn. Check out the different buckle that these have as compared to the 37 201s. The 37 501s have this same buckle as the 33 501s.

These 1933 501s are also a fuller cut. Also no red big E pocket tag. That was introduced in 1936. I hope this helps. You can find all these on E-Bay from time to time. I bought a pair of deadstock 1937 501s on E-Bay a couple of months ago.
