You will have no Problem getting the period cut at Hawleywoods. Its one of the few Barber shops that actually promote themselves and get into doing Period cuts....

I wish Seattle had a place like that...

One thing that can help the barber is if you have a photo or photos of what you are looking for in a new 'doo. Also if you can get some before and aftershots for us here and let us know what your experience was like, so a full review would be good.

Sounds good! I'm so tired of those "Retro" places with no place to put your hat.

It's kind of a long trip from the Valley to Long Beach just to get a haircut, but I just might do it. It sounds like a great place.

Thanks for the report! And welcome aboard!

I just returned from hawleywoods in Costa Mesa, VERY small shop, 4 chairs,

They needed to remove a ton of hair. Next time I will add a shave. They do so much better than super cuts lol when super does a 2 on the sides that is a 2 zip, hawleywoods takes their time, dusts the cut hair off several times and does the straight razor on the neck, around the ears and side burns, I have not had that done for 35 years at least. I made an appointment already for next month:D loved the experience so much I am treating my oldest son to a haircut there as well.

Nice!

yea very cool huh? yea I like the shave around the neck and sideburns I go to the one in long beach and I like it although I think there the same distance but I think its easier for me to go to the long beach one. Post some pictures I want to see the hairdo (what style did you ask for?)

in the past at super*uts I would say 2 on the side and barely combable on top. Then I would get my hair cut the next time it was so long could not stand it. So I showed up with about 3" of hair over my collar, and told him I want a 40s cut. He was a bit concerned about length, I told him HE is the artist, I just want a 40s length is of no concern ;)

all they need are number panels under them:p

Like I told him, I have not been happy with a haircut since about 1970 and it was 10 years before that I had a real barber cut my hair.

I made an appointment for 4 weeks no more long and shaggy for me

Are you kidding? These guys LOVE to be mentors to new guys. That's what this group is all about. You'll find yourself being intrigued by all sorts stuff you never even knew existed before. Wait till you start getting educated about arm holes!
