I've been wanted to try and make a custom fedora for myself for quite some time now.

I can definitely say I've been inspired to do this after seeing TonyB's and Stoney's work. I couldn't have never in a million years have done this project without all of their help. I can't thank them enough, they are both incredibly generous friends....thanks fellas. ;)

Keep in mind that this is my very 1st attempt at this so, I know there's alot of room for improvement, especially the trim work on the brim. :eusa_doh:

There's no liner in it yet either. [huh]

I also noticed that the bow isn't centered and I may have to redo that.

It's taken me awhile to do this on account of some medical issues I'm having, but other than the liner, it's pretty much finished.

With that being said, here's some photos I've taken along the way.

WOW!!!!!!:eek: :eek: :eek:

Just amazing, Bolt! I love the creativity on the ribbon treatment. Fantastic. And the finished product looks great. That being said, I also wonder what it would look like if you reversed the colors on the ribbon -- so that the main color of the ribbon was blue, and had red accents...[huh]

Very, very impressive! :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

Cheers,
JtL

I did think of that jimmy, only because I had black only for the binding. It would've looked great that way, but the blue I had wasn't the correct type of grosgrain too do it. [huh]

bolthead, I am absolutely amazed! You have gone far beyond anything I've ever dared, and you did it beautifully! If I have any reservation, it might be with the bow. It's a great design, but doesn't look quite right, yet. If you reposition the bow, you might try a wide strip of ribbon behind it. As a whole, though, I love your work. :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

Where did the raw body come from? Unbelievably great job, Bolt. If I had to sew a sweatband in I'd probably sew in part of my finger as well. How's it fit on you?

"Boltergeist": lol

You are one clever fellow, Bolty. Every step of that is impressive but that bow is tops!! I've got pretty good hands but no way could I even come close to the degree of finish you've achieved on this. Just super.
