IL Area Ladies- I need your help!

Ok, my girl digs a lot of the retro-lifestyle but has never been able to learn to the hair-stuff from books or on-line articles. She's not had great luck with a "modern" hairstylist copying older styles from magazines. She's looking for someone in IL (preferably Chicago, Bloomington or Champaign) to do her hair or teach her in person. As a guy, I'm not sure which direction to point her. Can anyone help?

Yeah. I'm from the South Side originally. Champaign is just a car ride away. We're up there every month or two at least? Gotta rec?
