Looking at the ingredients, Nivea doesn't seem to contain any ingredients that could go rancid - or as a matter of fact, anything at all that isn't used in any other leather conditioner - so it ought to be okay for leather but yeah, I'd still be very careful with hand cremes and anything that contains fat or lard or any of the stuff that negates the process of tanning.

Reading more about it, it might actually be pretty great for leather!

A Korean leather tailor in Seoul also told me that hand cream was what he'd always used for maintaining leather.

Probably a wee bit late but Aussie made R.M. Williams leather conditioner easily available online ebay etc.
