I was watching this suit...It's absolutely wonderful!! I hope it fits you well and it lasts you a good long time! As far as pricing, that suit was VERY well listed and thus went for a relatively high price. However, if you compare how much you'd pay for a suit of this construction and quality in modern times, you'd be looking at thousands...So I say very nice overall!

btw i love the fabric.

For a suit of that quality the price was a steal...however, by ebay standards, it did fetch a bit more than other suits of that same era and size.

While no bargain, you certainly did not overpay. It is a great suit and the dealre is one you can trust to provide the suit as described. His name is Roberto. He is very knowledgeable and a great guy. of course, even an expensive vintage suit is a bargain if you compare the quality to modern costs for the same.

I can't say I like how it's being advertised however... making all sorts of claims that you'll look just like this movie star etc. Looks nice though.

That's such a common selling technique for vintage. Practically every dealer does it, whether for mens or women's clothes. No big deal.

Beautiful suit, Atterbury!

ahem, it's accurate marketing.

If you have the body that will fit into that suit, you will look almost as good (personal aesthetic judgement) as the stars in some of those movies - though a relatively small star, stature-wise; maybe a Cagney. The suits were just cut 'n' constructed that well.

Seller probably studied marketing in school. lol
I prefer straight forward listings without the color commentary myself. This did catch my eye though, but as is usually the case I'd have to lose about 50 pounds in order to fit into it. :(
Lucky devils with their small sizes,...:eusa_doh:
A cool suit for sure.

You'd be hard pressed to find a reasonable facsimile today at triple the price as there's a dearth of 3 piece suits at RTW these days. And, I have no problem with the copy as it seems pretty accurate.

You WILL look like a movie star in that number!!

WHAT a GREAT buy!! and you know what my friend? you will 'go to the ball' and many others looking a million Rockefellar dollars in that suit!!:eusa_clap

I dare say, many of us on the Lounge might feel a 'wee bit' jealous (but in a nice way) knowing that you've hit the jackpot with that beauty of an iconic 30's suit (and good on you for it!).

Be stylish, hold your head up high and walk tall, as a man in that stature of a suit ought to :eusa_clap And wear it in good health!

Now let's see you in some photos modelling this dream buy!!;)

Nice job Atterbury, the suit looks great and the seller is a personal friend so I know you won't be disappointed. It will be as stated!! Also, if it helps, I think this suit is a bargain at that price. I would never have sold it in my shop for that price. It's just too rare.

No. That's a really small jacket. At 38" that would give me just 3" movement through the chest. (Assuming, of course, that the measurements are the flat measurements, not the correct body size measures.) And for an American jacket, that's really really short.

I'm now of the opinion that 16.5" or 17" are the perfect shoulder measurements for me. (My naked shoulders are 16.5")

Nope, the measurements on that suit are pretty much bang on perfect for my body (without the spare tyre currently around my waist).
