I need to find an Evening Gown!

I have an annual Gala that my office goes to and it completely fell off my radar that it was coming up so soon, less than a month!

I would love to make something or have something made, but don't know if I have enough time...so anyone see any lovely gowns ready to wear or know a place a girl can get her hands on a 30s/40's vintage number right quick?

It depends on what you are looking to spend, but www.vintagemartini.com and www.woodlandfarmsantiques.com are two online stores that always have a few lovely evening gowns.

For a simple, reproduction 40s-style gown, www.trashydiva.com has a few styles as well.

You might try Unique Vintage. I have ordered from them, and the dress was even prettier in person. And IMO the service is quick and reliable. Here's what came up when I searched for bias, if you'd like something 30s

Are you looking for a vintage dress, or just any kind of a formal gown? Nordstrom's is a good place to find some nice dresses, though their selection IS a bit limited, but the last time I was looking through there I actually saw a few that looked vintage inspired. The local mall usually has stores mainly dealing with formal gowns as well.

Yes, if you are looking for vintage inspired, Nordstrom is the place to go. Last year I got a very pretty 30's inspired gown from them.
This place has quite a big selection of vintage inspired dresses, and they ship fast too.

Oh wow, I love the first one! Of course it has to be the most expensive

With looking at your avatar (hair color and what not), The first dress would be absolutely striking on you! The last dress I think would work out very well, it does need some dressing up however. I think if you were to pair it up with some pearls or diamonds (fake or real) it would be a knock out look.
