I vote for number 2 that color really pops. Number 3 would also look very cool and that is a great lid you have.

I got the Green grosgrain in today. This is what it would look like. I realize that a much thinner ribbon would look a whole lot nicer and better in proportion with the size of the crown, but there's just too much damage to the felt and this is the width I have to use to cover it up. Anyway, what do ya think?

I guess I should've tried to put it on a bit tighter for pics though, eh? [huh]

Bolthead -- Apologies! I only just discovered this thread again today and saw your post. Hmmmmm... I think you're headed in the right direction, but, for my taste, I'm wondering if that green isn't a bit too bright. I know that the flash can sometimes make colors brighter than they actually are, but I was thinking of something more in the range of a "forest green." If you could find a ribbon in a slightly darker green, I think it would really set the hat off nicely.
