I made a rookie mistake

I made the mistake of measuring my hat size when my hair was longer than I usually wear it. Now that I have cut it my hat is too big even with foam. Oh well you live and learn.

I will have a 62 Moonstone Stylemaster for sale with no wait, worn only twice in the very near future.

Well it did shave my head as a matter of fact. I will try felt strips though first, where might I obtain them?

Edit your first post & there will be a Go Advanced option that lets you alter the title.
I get felt squares in the craft section of Wal-mart. They cost 34 cents. I get the white ones. You can cut them to different lenths & fold them over for additional thickness. HTH

That IS a rookie mistake! :eusa_doh:

Oh well, at least you have learned it fairly early. Personally, I get a full hair cut once every 4 weeks, so my hair length really does not factor in to hat sizes very much.

I really like the felt strips that you can get from TheFedoraStore.com. They are called Fedora Felts. (They have optional "sticky" on the back, if they keep slipping out). Try the Wal-Mart felt squares back in the crafts section.

Some people even like to use weather stripping.

Just remember, any method that uses "sticky" will probably be difficult to get out, and may take your lining with it when you do get it out.

I like to use strips of craft leather that is rough-out on both sides. 8 x 12 pads can be purchased a stores like Michaels or Hobby Lobby and use up more space than a layer of felt and it lies smoother than doubled felt.
