Thankfully it was a cheap burn and I'm only out $40.

I bought a Schaefer outfitters wool vest on Ebay last week and It proved to be a bust.
The shoulders and torso width were perfect so I didn't really pay much attention to anything else.
I just received the vest and it turns out that somebody had it shortened by 5 inches.
It wasn't done very well either, they didn't shorten the liner enough so it hangs down about 1/2".
If it were just the wrong size I could move it on, but this had to be shortened for a little person or something and nobody is gonna be able to wear it.
The worst part is that looking back at the pictures from the listing, it's fairly obvious to me now.

For $40 I've learned to pay attention to all measurements including the back length.
Now I've gotta measure all my vest to determine my ideal vest length to reference for future purchases.

That’s a bummer, seems like it should be eligible for a return because it was altered pretty drastically, and the seller made no mention of this fact.

don't think they knew, and I didn't bother to look for the length which was there.

Is the seller accepting returns? Even if not it might be worthwhile to message the seller and explain. Maybe they will take it back. If not, then oh well. But point is well taken - always check measurements, also ask about odors!

Even if they do I don't have the ability to print out a return label, and don't want to ship it back on my dime...etc
I'm just gonna eat the $40 as a learning experience.
