Gorgeous topper! I'd love to own one, but for the life of me, I'm not sure where I'd ever be able to wear it. Great find, Metro! :eusa_clap

Wow!!!! :eusa_clap :eusa_clap Awesome!! I am picturing it with that suit!:D

Yes Deeelovely, it was quite common in the late teens and 1920's to see top hats with regular suits not just with formal wear such as morning coats, tail coats, and frock coats. The whole top hat height to jacket length mystrey is overplayed. Unless it is a stovepipe hat(over 8 inches)... this proper height of 6 1/2 inches will look great with a suit. Of course I have to be very selective with the suit I wear it with.

Now with Karl Lagerfield, Silk top hats are on the runways. But then again He is an original. I think I will be one of the few people putting this style of hat into practice on the street. Then again St Helena is 5 thousand people and every one knows me, so they would only expect this of me.;)

Thank you Alan, your opinion matters greatly too me as you
have a wonderful sense of style.

Wow nice! I had always wanted one, and now that I could get it I dont have the courage to wear it.
Look forward to your post!!!

I am sorry about that. You just have to get used to top hats, plus with the morning coat and db dove grey waistcoat it is alot of work. I could care less what anybody thinks, I just wear what makes me happy, positive, and confident. I can see why you don't. I don't like alot of attention either but I just happen to love a fine plush top hat so much I take it because it comes along with the territory. Just got roll with the punches and live life to the fullest and that is what I try and do.

Excellent! Trust me, you'll find excuses to wear it. I did. :)

I love that flare, my toppers don't have nearly as much. I think you got a bargain, too, considering its age and condition. What stories it could tell!
