Tired of climbing to the top of my NYC size closet in order to get to my hats, and then basically having to get all the boxes down to reach an specific one, I stole JTL's idea and got shelves. Here's how they look and I am a VERY happy man. These are all of my hats and they fit in the structure perfectly.

A while back I got this hanging shelf for my blocks and flanges:

And this other thing that's attached to my desk for my stretcher and Jiffy!

You could probally get some poster board or thick cardstock & cut it into strips 2-3 inches wide & staple it into rings.

I thought about that but I don't like that cardboard or such leave marks in the felt. Just like vintage hat boxes...

What about folding over the cardboard & creating an "L" shape or even an "E" shape minus the middle section of the E?

That could actually work. Kind of pricey though. I need about 10! I wonder what do hatters call these things so I can google it.

I visited a retail hat store in downtown Birmingham about 3 years ago, and they had dozens of those rings piled up in a corner with other assorted packing materials - I didn't ask, but I suspect I could have absconded with quite a few just by asking. To them, these are packing materials to be thrown out.
