A hunter and fisherman

Here are a couple pictures I got at a vintage store in Dallas.

This one was titled "Hunting in Alpine, Texas"

This one was loose in a box of photos, no description

RE: Camouflage and 10-mile cloth

Someone earlier in this post mentioned that camouflage has no place in a vintage hunting getup, but I respectfully disagree. If you research the history of buffalo plaid, you’ll find that it was intended as camouflage, because the pattern breaks up the hunter’s outline, only since WWII has it been supplanted by various “realistic” camouflage patterns.

I, for one, would love to find a vintage-style Mackinaw in blaze orange buffalo plaid - classic style, modern legality.

PS What’s with this “Michiganian” stuff? I’ve always been a “Michigander” as in “What’s good for the Goose...”

After I move north I'll probably become much more of a waterfowler than a big game hunter but a nice double in 9.3x74 remains on my dream list. Pedersoli's hammered Kodiak would be my first choice combining my love of double guns with all the power I need to hunt just about anything I'll ever see again.
