How should leather trucker jackets fit?

Hi y'all. I recently bought a Vanson Maverick trucker jacket in size 42. While I really love the leather and the construction of the jacket, I am not so sure about the fit.

The jacket feels good when it is open, but it is a big snug in the mid section when I button it up. It is also quite short in the body. For reference, my chest measures at 40 inches, and this jacket has a pit to pit of 22.4 inches. My main concern with sizing up is the shoulder seam might go over my shoulder blades. Here are some pictures of it, what do y'all think about the fit?

This is absolutely how a type 3 leather or not should fit! Length any longer would be too long and it absolutely should taper at the waist. I have a couple 70’s era type 3 and they for similar to yours. Broad in the shoulder, massive taper and contour to a short waisted fit.

In my opinion your Vanson is perfect.

Do you think it's too short because your belt line is partially visible? Don't think that's a big deal - it looks perfectly good to me.

Plus from your side pics, you seem to lean back rather than stand straight which is pulling the front of the jacket a bit higher.

Literally textbook example of a perfect Trucker jacket fit. Change anything, the fit can only go worse.

The fit looks fine on you.

If you’re comparing the fit and comfort of a denim jean jacket to a leather trucker, just be aware that there’s a break in period for the leather jacket, and it will feel heavier and more restrictive than a denim jacket will.

When I bought my Schott trucker, I tried it and wanted to sell it right away, because it didn’t feel the same as my denim jacket—not nearly as comfortable. My girlfriend convinced me that I just needed to wear it, break it in, and get used to it. This was sage advice. It’s now super comfortable, and my favourite jacket to wear.

I love this jacket.
