Leisure suit!?:eeek::eusa_doh:
Yes, I did have one, but it has been gone since the 70's. I never had a pet rock, but I do still have a working 8-track player, but I am afraid to try one of the tapes for fear of it coming completely apart!

I didn't think you were old enough to have a leisure suit, although I'm old enough to have owned 8 track tapes... yikes.

Don't knock pet rocks, they make great props for snark...
Such as "My pet rock is smarter than you!" LOL The LDGE and I have exchanged jokes about me making her a pair of large brass spheres, for a similar snark...
I'm old enough to remember tape cassettes
Not *quite* 8-track age, although I'm sure they were around when I was born, just that I wasn't at an aware age. All I remember are tapes, fm radio and 45's
Next thing you are going to start talking about wire recorders---then you would be ooooolllld.
The question is, what happens when the HAHAHA U SUK LOL LOL kids of today are the 45-and-overs of tomorrow? Will they grow out of it? Does modern culture offer any incentive for them to grow out of it?
You mean the electret mic wired to the tape cassette recorder? I remember those...........ok, I'm old. LOL :crutch:
I'm 18 and I do like the fact that there is a large variety in age on this forum. It makes things more interesting and it's great to have so many different perspectives. This is a great forum as far as I know [;
The answer to your second question (unfortunately) is, pretty much, "No."
No, he's actually refering to the precursor of reel-to-reel tape, developed by the Germans during WWII. Even JamesPowers doesn't remember those! (And neither do I!)
I agree. It IS modern culture. When you have rappers who massacre the English language daily, advertising high-end products, dressed in suits, in black and white commercials, portraying an air of culture..........and then saying things such as "Aight, we cool", then no.
Also, I'm a proud 8-track player/tape owner. I think I've got 5 or 6 players, and probably about 100 tapes!
