Rufus,
I'm new to this but note you have a Buzz Rickson's, did you buy it from the US Preservation site (which I think is Eastman's dealer in the States?) or direct from Japan? I've been trying to find a site that sells Buzz Rickson's direct from Japan (though I know a fella on eBay, but he doesn't have all styles or sizes) but with no luck, any advice?

Hi CK, I got mine from a lovely gentleman called Miles Wood (Uses the name Asiamiles) on the Vintage Leather Jaclet forum.

He's in Japan, and turns up some great stuff, and is a really nice guy to deal with.

I'm off to Tokyo on Dec 28 for 10 days, and will scour the mean streets of Ueno for more info for you!

I'll report back asap!!

Andrew, I like the way you have arranged the pics of your collection so conveniently. Have you had much wear out of the Irvins recently. Its been Irvin weather here in the UK this week.

::: peek :::

Are ladies allowed in this thread?

And if yes, do you want the total to include suit jackets as well?

Some beautiful jackets here, gents.

Thanks Andrew, it works well to communicate the content.

Please don't tease me as i'm sure you're well aware it's sarong and thong (the kind that goes on the foot!) weather here for the next 4 months. As you know my main interest with these is more of the historical artefact than as fashion item. I'd have even more serious doubts about my sanity if it wasn't!

You gentlemen are so nice!

I think I have about 100 jackets (*cough, cough*). This may or may not include overcoats. A couple of my suits are shown (poorly) in the suit thread, and my overcoats are nicely displayed in the overcoat thread. Search by my name if interested.

My jacket collection consists of single coats, many many vintage suits and also reproduction suits. And no, I won't catalogue them for you, but will take requests if you want to see something that you were curious about.

My collection of retro-era jackets runs 1920 - 1950, with a preference for tailored 1940's jackets. As most women change weight during the course of a single year, my collection ranges in sizes from 2 to 10.

Questions anyone?

my jackets have jackets

i have so many jackets, and varieties of sizes, they could wear each other:

1.uswings milspec 46L goat a-2
2.currently on order a 44L version of the above jacket, to be the summer version, slimmer with no room for layering
3.schott rare milspec 1992 goat a-2, full milspec (contract number label) to ww2 specs, size 46...fits but too short at 25" long, so will probably sell
4.schott slightly less rare but rare nontheless, post 1996 milspec (contract number label)...milspec by the 1996+ stanards which allow side entry pockets along with the top entry...so this one has side entry...size 42, too small and i will sell
5.uswings g-1 uscoastguard milspec, 46L
6.uswings g-2 size 46, up for sale
7.cockpit usa size 46 replica of avirex milspec 1988 a-2, incredible jacket but just slightly too short at 25 1/2" (i'm 6'1") ...so will reluctantly sell
8.cockpit usa current issue usaf a-2 size 44L...not my cup of tea since i like the old style milspec, so up for sale
9.cockpt usa flying tiger horsehide with flying tiger leather patches...size 46...slightly short at 25 1/2", but authentic, so i'll likely keep it
10.cooper milspec a-2 size 46 goatskin, near new, very nice, but again at 6'1 i really need a long, so am selling
11.very cool spiewak and sons milspec size 46 a-2, goatskin...again, i need a long...the spiewak runs a bit tight on their sizes...but aside from cooper, spiewak is the only post 1988 a-2 maker that also made a-2s for the govt in ww2...so sad it isn't long enough
12.b-3 milspec shearling sheep leather...new condition, really nice...don't wear virtually ever living in lalaland, so also up for sale

well, i could continue, but that's all the military jackets i have...won't bore anyone with the rest...

happy new year, and many more jackets to all

how may jackets?

I'm a newcomer, but I'll give this a try! Currently:

1. B3 in pretty bad shape
2. G1 worn by skipper of the USS Coral Sea - Korea & Nam
3. G1 worn by pilot in Marine All Weather Fighter Sq.
4. Lewis Police Eq. LA Sherrif Dpt Horsehide Motor Jacket
5. 1953 Horsehide Sheeplined "Outerwear" half back (almost like new)
6. 5 all leather Canadian Hockey Varsity jackets (Ryerson, Toronto,Windsor)

Anybody else collect the Varsity jackets - rugged, well made, well worn!

how many?

Just came today - a great lookin' cordovan brown leather varsity jacket once worn by some hockey jock at MacMasterson Un. Patches all over it and it fits really well! My collection grows - anyone else interested out there?

My Fathers Cagleco G-1
Aero Real Deal A-2, russet with rust knits
Buzz Rickson B-10, Oldin Dennis repro
US Authentic goatskin A-2
Levi's type 1 repro
Levi's type 2 repro
Levi's type 3 original

The favorite for sentimental value is obviously the G-1, the favorite for daily wear is the Aero A-2 - I love that jacket!
