It was in the cutting phase last week, now its awaiting materials? Seems backwards.
Perhaps it turned out that there was no suitable material after all? Incorrectly cut and that was the last material? Did the quality prove to be poor during cutting? Whatever the case, they will have their reasons. Apart from impatience and anticipation, nothing to worry about. I know the feeling ;)

Aero told me the same thing today (four more weeks). I ordered a Shackleton on 8/15 and it was confirmed on 8/31.

Sleeves do look short, will look even shorter once it's been worn a bit.
I specified 26" and got 24". I waited all this time and spent all this money. The jacket is gorgeous but they screwed me. It costs a ton to send back and then shipping this back and forth and to the next buyer is terrible for the environment. It's a small drop on the bucket, but still. I guess one should only buy these jackets if you've seen the measurements in QC photos. I asked for them but they said its too late. For the price and the fact that they are being shipped at great expense around the world they should provide them. The product is excellent but I'm really disappointed with this situation.

If there really is a two inch difference, you will get a remake. I already had this and it worked without any problems.

Its so upsetting. I have to wait another 2+ months? They are telling me to wear it and then will charge me a fee for the remake because they insist it's 25.75" but they don't provide photos. The jacket is truly superb except the sleeves are far off.

I will return with a photo confirming how far off it is. As I said, I dont want to wait, spend more money to ship it back across the pond, or hurt this planet any more than is necessary. This has truly soured my experience. Every jacket I buy has 26" sleeves. 25.5" is fine too. This is not that.

What if the jacket I get isn't as good as this one? The hide on this is beautiful. Everything is perfect except the sleeves.

Perhaps replacing the sleeves will be enough.
If Aero accepts it as a remake, then you will not incur any costs for the return and you will not have to wait as long as with a new order.
Take a photo with a tape measure, just from the shoulder seam to the end of the sleeve and if there is more than 0.5’ difference, then it should fit. Good luck.

When you specify 26" you should have gotten 26".

But.... 26" would have been way too long imo.

Also, why focus on a number when the sleeve length feels good. As you said yesterday: "Why do they fit even though they are short of the specified measurement by 2” then?".

There's a never ending discussion here on TFL about sleeve length, the only conclusion that can be drawn is that it depends on personal preferences.

Personally I think the sleeve length on your Aero is spot on. They're the same length or even slightly longer than the sleeves on my Regius. Nobody here on TFL or elsewhere commented that the sleeves on my Regius look too short and I personally I wouldn't want them to be any longer.

If you'd feel better when the sleeves on you Aero are slightly longer than why not stretch them out a bit, that's relatively easy to do since it's vegetable tanned leather. It's probably not what you prefer to do on a brand new jacket but by stretching them you won't have to send the jacket back to Aero (good point on saving the environment).

But first have a look at these guys, I don't think any of them were worrying about the sleeve length of their jackets.

As usual, you make excellent points and have the photos to prove it.

Personally 25.5" would have been perfect on this jacket given how close it fits to how I would like it to. I will come back with a photo of the length to confirm it for the record but I have noticed that on jackets with well curved sleeves the actual measurement doesn't have to be 26". It can be somehow shorter and still fit well. I'm not smart enough to understand why that is.

As for stretching, my concern is with the rolls it will develop. This is a thin but stiff leather. I love arm rolls for the same reason I love them on engineers. I look at that development as if it were leather porn, as I expect many others here do too. Will the sleeves behave as they would have otherwise if I stretch them? Will I have to keep stretching them out to achieve the right length over and over, thereby destroying my precious rolls? This is what I'm worried about. The reason I posted my beloved Regius straight zip for sale here is because of my high hopes for this jacket. I'm in love with it and hope it works out for me.

The reason I feel particularly strongly about the sleeve length is because of the front drop on this jacket which is long. It has a long front and short arms and to me that isn't flattering on my body.

That being said, I really value your opinion on this and other topics. So I will strongly consider your idea.

As being discussed via email ( where it really should have been brought up prior to this post) we will work this out for you. I can assure you jacket was made to correct spec and that you haven't been "screwed ". We will not leave you with a jacket you are not happy with

According to my observations, the rolls form when the sleeve is long enough for something to pile up. If the sleeves fit exactly, then fewer rolls form. I don't know whether this can be generalised, but that would be my observation.

I’m a little puzzled because you previously said you were ‘over the moon’ with the jacket. And, although the line appears to have disappeared from your post, you also said you thought the sleeves were just ‘a hair short’
I’m not sure what has changed your mind but was it just one other persons opinion that they were too short ?
For what it’s worth I think the sleeves (and jacket) look just fine, however 2 inches is a bit more than ‘a hair’ and based on your photos if the extra 2 inches were applied to the sleeve length they would almost certainly be too long.

New in town. Interesting. Quite the aggressive tone for someone who hasn't been here long.

Like I said, another inch would have been great. 25.5" would be perfect. See my post above. I'll post photos of the actual length shortly, since my credibility is now in question from someone who has been here so long.

I don't need to justify my emotions to you, newcomer. Welcome.

That's interesting, and it explains why I prefer my sleeves a bit long. Can I ask you, what is the relationship between the curvature of the sleeve and the length required? Why does it seem that this woefully short sleeve still comes close to fitting properly?
