I yearn for a true A2 someday but have survived with two cheap imitation A-2 copies, from India. My Schott MC from 1970 is beat up and a bit snug these days. Also a cranberry colored Wilson's House of leather fitted waist length jacket size 40. A knee length belted gestapo type black leather coat still keeps the winter winds at bay after 30 years.

Hi Johan... sadly I'm not able to do a pic from wearing my Stockman (broken camera). But you can check out AeroLeathers Home Page for some fitting guides... Harry

Thanks ..for your advise...
But the pic of the Stockman on the Aero (uk) site is not so clear.
and they don't have any pictures on their US site...alas..

At last count I owned a dozen leather jackets/coats, but I think I've gotten rid of a couple since then.

I wish I had a dozen... I've got an old vintage World War II bomber style and a dress leather jacket. What I'm really wanting is an already worn-broke in black motorcycle jacket. My clothing style has really moved towards rockabilly and more 1950's and since I've got the greased pompadour the jacket would be a nice addition. Having trouble fiding shops with used jackets though.

A-2s:

Willis & Geiger-Seal Goatskin (Nice jacket, but rarely wear it)
US Authentic-Russet Horsehide (Tough as nails, I'm a lineman and wear it to work constantly,
just keeps getting better looking)
Gibson & Barnes-Russet Horsehide (Great leather, almost too perfect, but finally starting to
break in)
Goodwear-Seal Horsehide (Nothing needs to be said)
Eastman-Seal Steerhide (en route)

Gibson & Barnes Expedition in Goat (Bargain buy off AFAS)
Some shop off AFAS-Luftwaffe Hartman in Dark Brown Goat (actually not bad
for the money, nice high armholes, fits perfect)

Not only do they pile up HJ - I think they multiply too. Just like wirehangers.
Let one in your closet and you are allright. Two...then you get problems.
Next time you open your closet, there are 15 or 16!!!!
Wirehangers will take over the world!!!lol
Sincerely! :eusa_clap lol

I don't understand posts like this, do a search I must have recently posted 10+ pictures of my Stockman, with the thread I wrote and a review revived on the first "Outerwear" page. [huh]

I only know one person who has the Monarch coat on the VJF here is the link
http://www.vintageleatherjackets.or...&p=28366&hilit=monarch+civilian+jacket#p28366

On the FEW. They are based in NZ and if you contact RMNZ (they are one in the same) they can hook you up.
http://www.realmccoys.co.nz/

But be ready to part with some dough as those jackets run about 1400 bucks or there abouts. I think for the price you would be better off with a GW, Aero, or ELC. RMNZ has makes some nice jackets as well.

Here's my list:

1) Good Wear A2 21996 FQHH. Just a beautiful jacket!!

2) ELC Cable A2 Goat.

3) ELC A2 no-name horse. It's the jacket that's no-name; I'm assuming the horse had a name.

4) Grais FQ Steerhide Barnstormer style from mid 1960's.

5) Lost Worlds B3.

6) On order, Belgian Military leather coat from Sportsmansguide.

Cheers,
DF

Love it! The fit is a little more modern, but since I have broad shoulders it fits like a glove. The hide seemed too perfect, almost fake, at first, but is breaking in great. Developing great grain. The build quality is top notch and it feels indestructable.

It isn't quite as heavy as my US Authentic, and not quite as thin as my Eastman. It's just perfect.

Here is my list of jackets:

G-1 by Imperial Leather & Sportswear INC. (Size 44 with Attack SQN 152 & VFA-132 Patch)
A-2 by Perry Sportswear (Size 40)

Well my Eastman arrived, great jacket, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a tag in the pocket identifying it as horsehide. The seller had listed it as steerhide. I believe it to be their house model in "Warhorse". Should look beautiful after being worn enough.

Kojax-
Can't really tell you, I bought mine used.(Pretty much all mine were obtained that way).
Treating it with water,as described in other threads, popped the grain and broke it in some.
