Hmmm,

Whippet, Stratoliner, Saks 5th Ave. Homburg, Borsalino San Remo, Stetson Fifteen, Lee Stingy Brim, Newsboy, Purdue baseball cap, beat up old wool felt rain hat. That's 8. Oh, 9 if you add my beret. I wear 'em all. No collector, I. Just need a decent Panama and my hat desires are filled.

I've got 8 altogether if I don't include 5 womens hats that I'm giving to a local college...
1x Stetson range fedora conversion
2x cheapo straws I'm trying to make look good
1x B!Wear newsboy
1x black flat cap by Sand
1x Fake paper Panama hat (got it for a £1)
1x Akubra drover, which is too small despite attacks with a stretcher....
1x Afghan rebel wool hat.
In other words a collection of hats that are mostly in the stages of making good....However, an Akubra fed is on the way....

Jeff.

65 plus

I have "too many". About 10 straws, ranging from Optimo Superfino (two), to Brent Black Cuenca, and Art's blocking of PB's Montecristi's....4 of them

I have about 15 Optimos's., about 8 Art's hats, about 30 "vintage". And another 10 that are "Miller hats, Biltmore, or similar"

So I have OVER 60+ hats.

Yes it is a sickness....

Gee... I'm not really sure off hand, though I'd easily guess a couple dozen. Included in the mix are (currently) two Adventurebilts, several Dobbs, a Stetson Royal Deluxe, a Prtis, a classic vintage bowler, a top hat, two newsboys (one new and the other vintage), a straw or two... I've got thim brimmed hats from both grandfathers, including a Bavarian hat with the hiking pins on it, and I've got wide brimmed fedoras, which is what I usually wear!

38...

mostly fedoras, berets, 8 pointer newsboys and flat caps....but also a couple of bargee caps, a yorkshire fishermans knitted wool cap, a couple of westerns, USAAF B-1 and B-2 caps, US short billed HBT fatigue cap..

mostly vintage, a couple are vintage style

I also have a collection of WW2 flying headgear but i don't wear them and i haven't counted them....

So I too am one of the sorely afflicted. But compared to my jacket and coat obsession I am a hat moderate.

Not Enough...

Only two so far. But hopefully more some day. It was rather depressing reading all the way through to the end of this thread. Made me want to take my last college payment and go surfing eBay...

Way too many and nowhere near enough. I got 40-some, I think, several of which I'd gladly swap for just a couple of better ones. Most of those lesser lids were bought new, and being mass-produced hats of relatively recent manufacture, they just can't compare to the vintage ones. I've been a hat-wearer since my late teens (that's going back quite a spell) but it was only recently that I turned into a fanatic, meaning that I now do my own cleaning and am perpetually on the lookout for nice vintage hats to add to the collection.
