A cool looking felt fedora on a guy taking photos from about mid-span of the Golden Gate Bridge today. Yesterday it was warm north of the bridge and I saw a couple of straws in the Panama style and a white-bearded gentleman I see from time to time in my town who sports a dark brown felt fedora.

I saw three out and about today: two were on downtown pedestrians I passed while riding the city transit bus, both looked good-looking safari-brimmed felts/wools. One from my morning walk was on an amazing fellow operating a treaded CAT bucket loader as if he were born in its little enclosed cab. As I was momentarily mesmerized by his obvious skill in swiftly and expertly clearing snow from my employer's parking lot, I noticed he was also wearing a sharp fedora.

Thank you for your post.
A fellow operating a bucket loader wearing a fedora, that fellow is truly a fedora lover.
Best regards

At the mall today I saw 4 ladies, 3 men, and 2 teenage boys wearing fedoras. All the men were brim up and the ladies and teenage boys all stingys front brim down. One of the men looked like he was wearing an Optimo. It looked like the 1000 belly fur model. Very nice! Where I was is less than an hour away from the Optimo store on the south side. I also saw around 10 newsboy caps on men and women mostly Ivy League type or wedge. No 8 panels except the Mister Freedom I was wearing as in my avatar pic. Also 2 ladies wearing berets. There are always a large variety of hats and caps at the mall in Merrillville, Indiana.

At the local flea market today, spotted 2 new fedoras, 1 older straw and 2 older looking fedoras.

It seems the fedora look is actually coming back into style at least in the NJ, PA area.

I rarely go to casinos, however this afternoon the wife and I decided to drop in the local one and make a donation. I saw at least a dozen stingy brims inside, non of any quality. What I considered a little odd is that they were all on middle aged to retirement aged men, not exactly who I would have thought would be wearing one.

On occasion I'll see some $8 Walmart fedoras, if you call them that, but I only see a proper fedora at a funeral. It is a real shame.

I saw one 40ish fellow in a wide brimmed black western hat at a local Canadian Tire ( big box store for automotive, household and sporting goods ). It looked like it was a quality fur felt model. He was a big guy so he carried it off well.

At a wedding late yesterday, sat next to a young couple, him with a wide brimmed Stetson from a thrift shop (no more than ten years old). Also, I was was called upon by another young wedding attendee, 14 years of age, to talk at length about my fedora (VS blue Smoke) and his budding collection. Look out Splintercellz... this kid already has 8 hats!!

Great night, MANY great hat comments.
