What do you guys buy / wear for house slippers ?
Do you have the same standards as you do boots & shoes or do you just buy cheap stuff ?

I personally like Footwear by Footskins , they're handmade in Minnesota and in my experience are good quality for the money.
My shearling sheepskin slippers were only about $100 a few years ago and have been great.
I bought my dad a pair of their canoe sole moccasins in the Sequoia color this past Christmas and was I quite impressed.

I was so impressed that I ended up ordering myself a pair a couple weeks ago that were made to order and have just shipped today.
I love my sheepskin slippers, but the leather on these gave me much more of that nice boot leather impression/ experience.

A couple weeks ago I noticed that my little toes had begun wearing a bald spot into the shearling inside because I didn't size up to allow for socks, so I decided to order myself a pair of the canoe sole moccasins which were made to order and have just shipped today.
I expect these to last me many many years to come.
For me a pair of suede leather moccs, pretty beat up though now, had them years haha

For me it's basically just thick socks, although I have a pair of Tod's drivers which make good house shoes (and office shoes) and I wear them sometimes. I have a pair of Church's velvet Albert slippers but they're a bit clunky in our small, mostly carpeted house would probably be best for someplace with stone floors etc which I suppose is the sort of residential environment in which they originated.

We don't have carpet here in Spain, it's mostly ceramic or wooden floors for the coolness, Moroccan Babucha are popular here, I've had a couple of pairs, very comfortable

I have a pair of oversized sneakers I only wear in the house, but before that, it was a pair of moccasins that I now use at camp after a long day of backpacking. I miss the days when you could have a pair of handmade, double soles made for a reasonable price. Maybe I should start looking for a pattern so I can take a stab at making my own.

I have two pairs of slippers currently. One pair the wife bought me a few years ago - they're a blue suede style that are in the moc direction, but have a saddle with a penny loafer look. Als have another velvet pair my parents bought me a while back. Dunlops, like these:

Can' fault them for comfort, but wouldn't have chosen them either - they're ugly as all get-out. Not the shape / design, which is fine, but the colouring. I wish they'd been a plain colour all over - or at least not had that awful logo on them. Still, nobody sees them (save when I forget and take the dog round the block still wearing them in the morning). When they're done - can't justify anything new til they need replaced - I'll be gonig back to a traditional leather slipper with a leather sole, preferably in burgundy.

I wear slippers a *lot* these last few years, as I WFH when not teaching, and don't generally put anything else on unless I'm leaving the house.

This is the sort of thing I prefer:

Pretty much every big British brand makes them - it's possible to spend hundreds on house slippers, it turns out. I'm usually perfectly happy with a pair of Clarks at about £50.
