Fletch was kind enough to let me buy this jacket from him. It is terrific! I have gotten numerous complements today. It is a DeCicco & Longo from Youngstown Ohio.

Made from a grand wool of cream and black with maroon overpane. Buttons are mother of pearl and sewn in with a cream and sea green thread to match the irredescence of the button. It has three patch pockets and one interior pocket. It is very sporty and comfortable and it fits too:eusa_clap
Pardon the poor photo, I will get a better one soon.

I usually stay away from stronger patterns but this really looked great. I think it looks damn handsome. My standards are solids and small patterns. I am trying to diversify.

Thank you gentlemen, I appreciate the encouragement. I usually wear more muted patterns or solids and let the tie do all the talking. Even though this jacket has a strong pattern it is not overbaring and it is hard to argue with such great material. Like Sefton I love the size of the collar.
I wonder if I could get away with wearing cream linen trousers with this jacket.

Why not go the whole hog? A pair of B&W broadstreets might be nice too but then that would be very daring....

Nice jacket, Douglas. A couple of days ago, I won a jacket on eBay that probably has a very similar fabric. (I haven't received it yet.) This fabric is a cream/black houndstooth in a wool/silk blend, so it should drape nicely.

I expect this jacket is a much more recent vintage, but the 'hacking jacket' profile is a style that goes quite far back in the UK. I'll know more when I receive it.

Douglas, I like your idea of mating the jacket with linen trousers. Cookie, I like your idea too. I'm going to try to find a pair of black & cream linen spectators to complete the ensemble.

IMHO, bold patterns quite proper for 'sporting' or 'resort' wear; but not so for business, unless you're selling used cars.
