Whoops! Didn't notice 'Golden Era.' Connery probably need not apply. So I'll mention Casino Royale with David Niven. Amusing at times, but put together by multiple writers and directors - multiple plots running through it, and the ending is, while amusing, not all that satisfying if you were trying to make sense of the movie. Amusing, though. Keep watching 'till the end for the song. lol

Yes, but someone else said "It's better to burn out than it is to fade away."

Joan Crawford's career spanned decades... Maybe a few too many. She ended up in schlock like Strait-Jacket, which was when things started to go down fast. She was way over the top in I Saw What You Did, and was downright laughable in Berserk and Trog. Something comes to mind about a dead animal and some salt...

That being said, I've seen every film and enjoyed them thoroughly.

I mentioned Robert Mitchum in The Night of the Hunter, but it was such a bad movie, it's worth mentioning again! His creepiness was way better in Cape Fear.

One memorable stinker from 1956 has John Wayne as Genghis Kahn, with Susan Hayward. Filmed in the area around the nuclear testing grounds, it is suggested that Dick Powell, Hayward, Wayne and a number of others died from the cancers that they developed from being in the area.

If true, then it's especially ironic that they died because of a really bad film.

I had heard many good things about this movie, so when I saw it in a video store I quickly bought it. Upon watching it I found it to be a laughably bad movie! Mitchum is good in his role but there are so many other problems with the movie I can't understand how it gets such high marks on IMDB (not that they are always perfect). The acting of the children is abysmal for the most part, and the story seems to wander on without a clear direction while clumsily introducing new characters and painfully continuing the story. Can anyone help me out with some of the merits of the film, or why it is held in such high regard?

I've heard about that too! It's similar to the stories about the casts of Rebel Without a Cause and The Misfits.

I love John Wayne, but I don't think he was a good choice to play Khan.

The Last thing I remember seeing him in was Good Guys Wear Black, which featured Chuck Norris in his first starring role. Jim Backus also had a small part in that film.

i am agree with this one, i swear for my own life i have never EVER have seen worse movie than this one, uff, for sure i am not looking forward to see it again.

Don't forget "30,000 Leagues Under The Sea" I'm not sure that the film-makers bothered to read the Verne classic. They seemed to think that the 30,000 leagues would refer to depth.

30,000 leagues = 168,000km
Diameter of the Earth (pole to pole) = 12,713km

As the accountant-detective said "something doesn't add up".
