Keep it! In my opinion it looks great!
I always think that these kind of jackets are better a little too short than too long. And from here it doesn’t look neither of those...
That's almost exactly where the front and back of my HWM sits and I've had the exact same feelings about it for a month or so, though the sleeves on mine feel like the perfect length to me. Standing relaxed, it just covers the belt and loops, but any drooping of the pants or lifting of the shoulders exposes a bit of belt buckle. Based on everything I've seen and heard, though, I'm just going to stop worrying about it and wear the Hell out of it, because aside from maybe wanting 1/2" more length it is absolutely *perfect* to me.
Mine did cover the belt exactly at the start but is now not covering all of the belt. I dont know if its bc of shrinkage, me wearing lower pants or both, but to me the problem is if I would add an inch it would become too long at the back and i hate it when the end of the back flips on the backpockets when I walk.
Offcourse one could ask for longer front then back, and that would suit me very good, but I think its hard to get it right and kinda dont want to go through it all. If I won the lottery or otherwise got some money I could spend, I would consider getting a new one and trying this out, but as the one I have is kinda nice in all other aspects other then being maybe 0,5" too short in the front Im keeping it either way and we will see If I can ad one in the future.
Dep126: I think the length is fine. My HWM is maybe .5" longer, but the difference between mine and yours is negligible.
Griff: If only the problems of the world could be solved as simply as the length of your jacket. The solution? Don't wear lower pants!
These jackets will "wrinkle up" in the torso, as well as in the sleeves. It will normally cause loss of length of perhaps less than .5". But if the jacket is too short to begin with, the loss of even .5" will be more noticeable. This may be of future concern to Dep if his jacket has not yet "wrinkled."
