YeAh BoY!!!

Now that is high!

That is 30's all the way! I couldn’t wear any of my trousers that high but, heck, I'd love to find out where he had those made! They have a very strong depression era feel about them! Yes, comically too high but, the right cut and drape... look at those amazing cuffs!

The tie would be best tucked in I think... or, shorter! Eh, er... naturally ;)

Fun photo! He's ready for tea!

I remember when I was a kid in the 60's there used to be some old men that would come into dad's barbershop that wore their pants almost that high. They'd hike them up over their pot bellies and cinch the belt down. No falling down pants problems for those old boys.lol

Wow,....I wear mine like that all the time!! LOL!

Ya know the pants look great,...other than the simple fact that a few more inches higher and they would end up wrapping around his neck...:)

High waisted trousers are the absolute for a cat looking to dress 30s or 40s they're awesome!!
The one thing that always makes or breaks a good 30s or 40s look is the appearance or absence of a good authentic looking pair of high waisted trousers! When you see them there's no mistaking it, without them, you may as well slip on a pair of addidas with your fedora while yer at at....:eusa_doh:

Long live the high waist!!!:D

The 1st time I saw a high waist and relly thought it looked good was in Te Killers, Burt lancaster's 1st (I believe) film.

The first thing I thought was....

"I wonder did he fall into a vat of magic potion as a baby?"

The conclusion I came to in the end, though, was that this gentleman is one of the fashion forward set, and is actually anticipating next Autumn's strapless dungaree look.

:D

Rather too extreme for my tastes, but I do agree that the higher waist is the detail that really sets out an authentic period look.
