I'm a freshman in High School this year, so I'm back at the bottom of the pile. I know it's not that big of a deal about what you wear, but I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on easy care clothing or fedoras. Would a fedora last in a locker throughout the day, and then to a football locker for about an hour more? Suggestions? Comments?

Thanks,

J.J.

Well as for clothing care some of the gents here will be able to better help you. As for myself I had the same issue about 6 years ago so I can tell you at least what I did.

Our lockers were in the hallways so the Florida Humidity was something to worry about. I had 3 suits at the time so what I would do is have them professionally cleaned and then would store them in the plastic bags inside of a hanging bag with a bit more substance. This tended to keep the clothes in the same shape as i took them out of my closet in that day. As for a Fedora if you have a laptop locker as they call em now you can fit one of those hard hat boxes inside it and that will do fine.

For a football locker youd want the hat box to be newer and airtight. Theres alot of moisture floating around in most H.S. football locker rooms so you need to protect your hat from that. Also the box should protect the hat from that god awful smell of old socks.

Cheers!

Ah... almost forgot. The moment you are allowed to have a car on campus consider the "Transporter 2" option which is what I use now in College. Fully drycleaned and pressed suit sealed in an airtight bag in the trunk. Keep 2 or 3 in there and you'll be ready for whatever nature or man flings at you. The airtight system is one of those cheap "as seen on tv" things and can be bought anywhere. All you need is a vacuum cleaner with detachable hose :)

I'm a junior now.
When I was a freshman, I was wearing a piece of junk wool crushable fedora.
I still have it, but I've redone it so much you'd never recognize it.

I'd think a brim would last being bent for a period or so without any ill effects.
maybe get something with a thin floppy felt?
