High rise khakis

I'm still searching for that perfect pair of HIGH RISE khakis/chinos. By 'high rise', I don't mean period high-rise with a buckle back, I just mean a regular pair of khakis for everyday wear that fits me well. Everything I've tried on, with perhaps the exception of Bill's Khakis have too low of a rise. Bill's Khakis are great, but they are bit more dressy than what I'm looking for.

Ideas?

I'm extremely impressed by the PIR Cargos I recently bought on eBay. I plan soon to order some of their Overlord model (without the thigh 'cago' pockets). Good, wide late thirties/ early forties style legs, nice dished aluminium buttons, with braces buttons fitted and button fly. They sit just on my navel, which is a very comfortable height. Come as standard with 35" inside leg, which is ideal if you want to have them take up with a cuff. Alas, I discover, I have waited too long and the half-price sale is gone - curses! Still significantly cheaper than the Buzz option, though, especially if you are Stateside.

I believe PIR also offers a discount to members of the Fedora Lounge. Worth checking--they're nice folks!

Does anyone remember the username of the PIR folks on here? The last I tried, their website contact form wasn't working...

Would you like to share a link to PIR.. I couldn't find a pair of PIR trousers on the bay.. Also the searchterm 'Overlord' came up with some rather obscure games and other stuff that have nothing to do with trousers...

Edward, are those PIR's button fly or zipper?

Thanks

The Yardborough model, as I have, are button fly. Not sure about the others. I was sure they are, but I can't find any confirmation one way or the other on the website.

Because of the primary market? There have to be plenty of Japanese men with 36 waists.

That's what I thought.. they'll only go as far as a size 35.. It just makes no sense.. leaving out the bigger/taller-sized US/EU market for this type of repop-clothing.. I'm a dissapointed tall EurAsian...

Yeah, give PIR a go, then... I've looked at Buzz before, but always ben lost by the 35 limit. guess they have ther primary market in Japan, and don't need us "fat" westerners... ;)

If you are looking for something on the cheap side, give Dickies 874 a try. Solidly made, high rise, less dressy than Bills, real workwear pants.

At the Front khakis are more of a period pant style, in my opinion.

I agree, I have two pair of ATF Khakis and LOVE them, best price/quality on the market, easy.

Trotsky so right about At the Front's khakis. Dollar-for-dollar they are the best "premium" khakis on the market.

I'm always surprised that people don't go the route of buying reproductions intended for reenactor more. I've definitely seen a number of threads with tiles like "who makes to most authentic [_____________]?" Historical reproduction companies almost always win in this regard plus, since their products have to stand up to active use, they tend to produce hard wearing products.
