It is a strange bash is'nt it. I tried poping it out and it just goes back. I did not use water nor steam on it yet. I like to keep my hats the way I found them for a while before changing their look.
Deanglen there is nothing wrong with the hat just my personal taste for what I think looks best on me.
Could it be the ribbon? Bit wide isn't it? The more I compare it to your other hats I think I can see what you're saying, I just can't quite figure out why. Color, perhaps? The crown has that lower in back look, maybe it's that, too.
To me, in front view it looks similar to that de-edged Cavanaugh that I like a lot. In side view, however, it looks different, and it must be the bash that changes the profile.
wonderful hat! that's a wild bash-that works ( I think) becomes very
sculptural and flows with the rest of the lines of the hat; not being conven-
tional, with the ribbon size, et.al., maybe the bash was meant to be...
Douglas, you got the eye, my man. Enjoy it!
However, I'd love to see a nice smile on your face in at least one picture, Doug. I giggle thinking that you happliy and excitedly post your new hat(s), yet look so damn angry in all of them...
I'd be curious to see the writing on the sweat/liner.
I have a Borsalino from Higbee- seemed to be a department
store rather than a hat maker. But who knows.
Higbee's was a department store that existed in Clevland OH . They were bought out I believe in the 1980's and carried a nice selection of hats from Stetson and Borsalino .
