To me!

Does anyone collect movie star / celebrity photos? I'm talking about the ones that the PR people or the studios send out, not the one you clip from People Magazine!

I sent away for my first one when I was about ten years old after seeing the Disney movie "A Tiger Walks". I had an instant infatuation with young Pamela Franklin. I wrote to Disney and they sent me a personalized signed 8x10 of the little vixen. (I'm so sure she took time out to sign it herself too!) ;)

That started a trend that I occasionally still indulge to this day - although most of my finds come from eBay these days. Years ago I got pictures of they cast of 'Batman', 'The Legend of Jesse James', 'Rat Patrol' and a signed 5x7 of Robert Lansing of 'Twelve O'Clock High'. I still have them all today.

More recently I've collected the entire crew of the movie version of 'Memphis Belle' and also several Gregory Peck photos from the movie version of TOH. I've got quite a little nostalgic collection - perhaps I can scan a few and post them.

Who else has got such hobby? Even one of two pictures? Talk abut it with us and post a few of them glossies, will ya?!

I used to have a huge collection of film stills and PR portraits from the 20s and 30s. I still have a few that I particularly liked, but I was unemployed for a year (couldn't find ANYTHING!) and had to sell them on ebay. I regret every moment of it!

But on the plus, I got $464 off two Clara Bow Rough House Rosie stills. I bought them for $30 and didn't expect to get more than $50 for them.

I almost fell off my seat when I saw the final bidding price. And the man who won them was an older gentlemen who told me that these photos were important to him because his parents went on their first date to see that movie. It was so sweet.

When I was a child I was rather infatuated with Kathy Ireland, so sent her a letter. I received a signed photo and a handwritten letter. WHO actually signed it is debatable, however.

Hey Dixon I have an idea for you since I collect images of vintage autos and aircraft. Try www.webshots.com and download the free wallpaper/screensaver program. Then you can scan your photos and have them on the computer as well.

Here's one of Gable that everyone has seen at one time or another. I've collected quite a few that appear to have been from the same photo session. Clark just turned and swayed in his seat apparently, smiling and not.

I once heard Andy Rooney say, no one could wear an AAF uniform like CG! Custom fit, no doubt!

These guys' names are escaping me...who are they?

I forgot to say Fletch, sorry? That's Robert Lansing as Gen. Frank Savage on the T.V. series 'Twelve O'clock High'. He was replaced by Paul Burke who played Col. Joe Gallagher. I got these gems back in 1964 and 1965! That is a lifetime ago, it seems!
