Hemingways striped fishing cap

OK, I know this is a very long shot but I really need one of these caps !! No this is not Hemingway's white longbill fishingcap... that would be too easy to source. But unfortunately I've never seen one of these striped caps in person, nor have I ever seen a photo of Hemingway actually wearing one - and maybe he never did, but that's not the point. It's one cool cap in my opinion. I was hopeing that maybe someone's has an idea where to get one..or one similar to it (since this is just a painting). I'd guess it to be a sort of denim hickory stripe cap but with two distinct differences from the common ones - first it's way more blue than white and secondly the stripe follow the contour of the brim (instead of perpendicular to it as most hickory caps are). And that's not to mention the basic cut of it.

Cotton "Ticking" is a workman-like, woven stripe cloth (sometimes herringbone twill)with more variations than Hickory stripe. The stripe following the shape of the cap's bill would require two different cloths to make one hat. I guess this is artistic license at work- sometimes you paint what looks better, not what is actually there.

Similar to a Railroad Cap.

Ain't it the truth.. I figured that may be the case. And thank you guys for the "ticking " info too. I do believe I may have to have one of these made up. Hell I may make it myself once I get my new sewing machine. This hat is a bit like a railroad or engineer hat but it also seems a little bit like a floppy and long"er" billed greek fisherman's hat in design, atleast the top of it seems to have less volume than the engineer's hats plus the the pleating that they usually have too. As for the stripes that follow the shape of the bill... maybe a chunky white sewn thread would create the same effect ? Does anyone have the link to that company (I can't rememeber the name) that build creek fisherman's hat in several different fabrics (various colors of canvas' and denims, etc)? I got the link from this site along time ago but it's on my computer that has crashed.

I've got this hat in mind. Not the one you mentioned, but a bit like it?

Hey CP that is exactly the hat maker that I was talking about.. I hadn't looked at the link in a very long time, thanks for posting it again. Some of their designs look really close to the painted hat above. Maybe I can source the fabric and have them make me one out of it.
