Hem alterations?

I have a few pants the need to be shortened. I don't know where to take them or how much the average cost would be....

Local tailor or seamstress - a good dry cleaners can usually recommend someone decent. Give your local men's shop a call and see what they have to say, as well.

As far as price, for a simple trouser hem I charge about 5 bucks, 7 if it's a tough fabric, 10 if a rush job.

Prices vary with geography, so be sure to ask first.

Follow Charleston Bows advice on where to go if you need to know where they are the local yellow pages always help and the prices run anywhere from about $5-$10 in the Orange County Area, rush services might be a little more pricey though.

If you plan to do much buying of pants that need hemming, you might learn to do it yourself. Easy peasy. Just don't let anyone see your sloppy stitching.

It's very easy to master. Heck, you can even start charging yourself!
