Most telescope westerns I see now are "gambler" style = like Stevie Ray Vaugh & Ronnie Van Zant.
You can luck into an old open crown western on ebay that you can easily crease to a telescope.
Or just see if a western store will get an open crown western

Yes Sir! Lets not reduce his genius to just Chevrolet though, he was a straight automotive genius. To me he is like an automobile Einstein. His boss 302 is one of my all time favorite cars. He did things with cars that people to this day cant understand and the shame of it is he is only recognized by fans of the sport or serious car enthusiasts. My hat would be off to you for knowing who he is, but alas that's the reason I'm here, I dont have one

I use steam but for major shaping, I just spray distilled water, crease it, let it dry, then steam it to set the crease.
The steaming will reactivate the shellac. Hope that helps....

There my not be many Western wear shops in Miami, but Davey bills itself as the "Cowboy Capital of Florida" and it's not too far north. I'm from Orlando and there's no shortage of cowboy clothing places in the central part of the state, if you ever find yourself up that way.

Really? If this fit me and I paid $150 for it Id be really happy.
I googled Biltmore before buying it and I only say hats for $150+

Edit: Im in Canada by the way... so I paid 100/1.4

maybe $50 is someone is looking for a narrow brim Biltmore

to sell a used hat at a lucrative profit for the seller it has to be something desirable and in demand ... which is usually hats pre 1960s ... wider brims... originally sold open crown... higher crown ... etc

I am not a Biltmore expert but that does not strike me as a hat in demand

looks to be probably 1970s ? ... or even later maybe

just not going to demand high dollars

I just picked up an absolute mint vintage Royal Stetson with a shorter brim for $20 as a gift to my wife. It is a great hat. I also picked up a mint vintage Borsalino in 6 7/8 for her for the grand sum of $30. So hats of smaller sizes with shorter brims can be had for literally a song.
