HELP! Mice damage to my Cooper A2 flight jacket.

I need some advice. I just discovered some mice (or rat) damage to the collar of my Cooper A-2 which had been in storage all summer. The damage is slight, just a little bit of nibbling around the edge of the collar, but it detracts from what was untill now a perfect jacket.

Any advice on how or where to get this repaired? This is one of my favorite jackets, fits me like a glove, and as Cooper is now out of business, it will be very hard to replace.

Sorry, but not on MY jacket. I've tried those "kits" before to repair leather/vinyl upholstery and in my experience they really don't work and the end result looks like crap. What I need is someone or some way to do this professionally.

Buy another one

there are . .what . . .100's of Coopers on Ebay at any given time . .plus you might be lucky enough to find a Pop's modded one . . .

totally get another one...be less than a repair...just get another your size...and put havahart traps out in your closet

i have near mint size 44, 46, and 46L cooper a-2s if those happen to be your size...i got over them a long time ago and will eventually sell them on ebay, but let me know if one of these is your size...otherwise, go on ebay...they are on there in every possible size and usually go for $150 or less in near perfect shape...tho a few bozos try and sell them buy it now for $250...hahahhaha

If the nibbled area is near the stitched edge of the collar, I think what you would need to do is unstitch the seam which runs around the edge of the collar and fold it so that the nibbled part is concealed between the two halves when it is sewn back together.

Would make the collar very slightly smaller, but otherwise the jacket would be unchanged.

If the nibbled area is near the fold, where your neck touches it, you could get someone to make a leather patch and sew it on over the damaged area.

I used to see leather repair shops walking around Chicago, don't know of any now.

Either buy another Cooper or upgrade to a more accurate repro.

Get a new one seems the best answer, and just a brief note here, my suggestion about the leather repair kit was based on the premise that the affected area was very, very small and that such an application would be a minor aspect of the entire collar. I do understand that it there are better solutions.
