Help Me Help the Major Help Me

Did that make sense? The major has graciously agreed to try and make me a hat for Christmas. My interest is in a hat for Florida (non-Panama, as I have one of those coming), that is a combination of Fedoraesque with a Country (Western or Explorer) type flair. I would like something in a light color. I understand I am limited by the time-sensitive nature of my request, the colors on hand and that the Major is very busy.....However, do any of you have any pics you might post of something you think might fill the bill? Here are three pics I found that are kinda sorta what I am talking about. The third one is about as dark as I would like to go. I would value any other thoughts or suggestions any esteemed member of this esteemed forum might offer. Thanks, Phil

Did you ask him if he has any camel/butternut bodies? You might like that color!
I like the first one and the style of the second but in the camel color.

I like this one for the western nostalgia flavor with a bound and rolled brim. In a Silverbelly or Buckskin color, it would look very nice.

If you want something that is fedoraish/westernish then maybe you should think about something like an open road type with the cattleman or any crease really. This is the Camel/ Butternut color.

You don't say much my friend, but when you do it's to the point, and I salute you for it. :D

From the major of course!!:D

Well, as soon as we get ourselves cleaned up and we get a little smellum in our hair, why, we're gonna feel 100% better about ourselves and about life in general.

Hey mister! I don't mean to be tellin' tales out of school, but there's a feller in there that'll pay you ten dollars if you sing into his can.

I say # 2 or 3. That butternut is mighty fine. I may have to get the major to make me a hat out of that.

That is majormoore's Camel/Butternut color I originally wanted a confederate slouch hat in that color (still do actually) but Dee knew I wanted an open road type hat and surprised for my Bday last Sept.:D It is a magnificent color in person. I first saw it on a western in his shop and loved it!

Yep, that's me in the avatar in

full Chihuahua mode. I love that camel/butternut color and I think I like #3 the best too......I have told Mike that I will leave the final selection to him. I can't wait! Should be a good Christmas--two custom leather coats and a hat! Won't I be spiffy??? Don't answer that!

I've seen that butternut color on IC in person....it is wonderful...and that idea of an "Openroad" style would work very nice here in Florida...:eusa_clap

Is the RBH hat with the Ranger pin an open road style?

I have really liked that hat since it was first posted. Isn't that a Major hat?

Of course RBH is much better looking than I am. In fact I don't know him, but I don't think I like him. Every picture I see of him in a hat looks terrific! Some guys got all the good looks.....:D

That's Rusty's "The Ranger" by majormoore. I think it's a lightweight but I may be wrong. It is a very nice hat though, I saw it in Memphis.:D
