Help me date my table and chairs

...so the 90 year old lady 2 doors down from me went into a nursing home recently and her family is clearing out her stuff. everything was donated to charity but i caught this in time. it's exactly what i've been looking for for a few years for my eat in kitchen. it's in almost brand new shape. i'm soooooo excited. and it has a built in leaf too. comes with 4 chairs. got it for $100. does anyone have any idea when it was made? i'm thinking late 30's, early 40's??? it's all 100% wood.
i just love the black painted art deco lines on the top.
the chairs had a horrible red velvet material on the seat. my hubby tore it off and the original finish was underneath with no damage. the chairs are SUPER sturdy. they don't wobble at all. they will live longer than me!
There aren't any markings on any pieces. I looked everywhere.
So when do you think it was made? What do you think it's worth? (I'm not selling it but I am just curious to see what it's worth)

Your best bet is to ply them with some nice oil wax.......circular motions...sweet talk and tell them that "Baby you know you're the only one for me "

I'd say mid-30s, maybe even early 30s. These table sets always strike me as more 30s than 40s-era. Is the table-top porcelain? My mother has a very similar set.

I think they could have been made anywhere from 1930 thru the early 50's. I wonder if they've been repainted? There might be some highlight colors under that solid white. Anyhow, they're a very nice set. Congrats!

i'm gonna have to ask you to ship it to my house so i can take a closer look. indefinately.

it definately looks like it's from the 30's. and it's beautiful!

the top is all wood.
the bottom of the table has been repainted (the top has not been repainted, it's original). the chairs have also been repainted (but not the black seat).

one of these days, i may strip it and repaint it doing a better job.

And when you strip them, you might find the underlying wood is really nice, too. We striped an old painted end table my grandmother had forever and underneath was quartersawn golden oak.

I think I have seen the exact same table before on the lounge? Have you shoved it before, or does someone else have another like it?

It's beautyfull, and I'll eat my hat if that isn't true art deco from the 20s, 30s or maybe 40s, most likely the 30s.
