Help ID leather jacket - plaid pocket bags and SERVAL zipper

Hoping to ID a maker and general age for this jacket. The leather is very thick, and the quality seems on par with my old Perfecto. The zip-in liner is missing so the manufacturer's tag is gone. The inside lining is a heavy nylon, but the stitching looks a little wobbly, so it may have been re-lined at some point. This jacket has brass snaps and a SERVAL front zipper. ALL the pockets are lined with tartan plaid wool (or wool blend). The inside pocket looks like red buffalo plaid, the hand warmers and chest pocket are purple and red, and the cigarette pocket is grey/red/blue. The epaulets are only 4" long with squared off ends.

Does this style seem like a known manufacturer? Does anyone know of a maker who used plaid inside the pockets?

Yep, it's a Lesco. Beautiful jacket and one thats in a really great shape. Looks new to me. Do you have the belt for it?

I find it easier to id perfectos by the back, and Lesco is easy with those large shoulder gussets. :)

Wow, that was fast! Thanks so much. I've emailed pics to a few dealers and bloggers, but nobody had any idea. I'm guessing it's from the early seventies, does that sound about right? Did they always use plaid for the pocket bags, or does that help narrow down an age?

Unfortunately I don't have the belt, but it was a Goodwill find that fits perfectly so I'm not complaining. I often find the belt a little annoying, so I probably wouldn't have worn it anyways. The front zipper is missing a pull, but the original owner made one out of some sturdy wire and leather that works great and looks pretty cool.

Sorry, honez, can't help you with the year. I know only that at some point they switched from brass to nickel hardware. Or perhaps it was the other way around? :)

Lesco's were sold with a belt but half the ones on ebay don't have it anymore. I guess people would just put it away and forget about it. Too bad, if for no other reason, it certainly adds to the price.
