My apologies if this is the wrong area or there was another area where this was a topic I just couldn't find it. I need help finding a pin up name. I've been using Veronica Van Ness (Veronica because it's retro and Veronica Lake and Van Ness because my first name is Vanessa) and I am not sure if it works anymore. I just lost a bunch of weight and got new pictures done and was about to start a fan page on Facebook but I can't until I finalize a name. My name is Vanessa and I'd like to incorporate that into it somehow. Especially, the V's I think it stands out and makes me think of Vargas and Vintage and Vegas. I'm just having a tough time. I want it to be glamorous and retro. I have a bleach blonde marilynish look.....depending (think Doris Mayday only different haha). And I'd like my name to evoke Hollywood glamour. It can have some fun cheese to it. As I am a bit of a goof. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I just keep going in circles.

I have things like Vi Vi Van Ness and Vanny Vegas or Va Voom Vanessa. I'm not very good at this. I may need to stick to my original. There's also Nessy which is a Nickname of mine. or Vixen. I don't know if you guys can help. I'm sure you can do a better job than me.

You are so cute. Mine is Teal Darling. I picked it for my favorite color. But I was told when picking my name to pick it off of something that wont change like eye color, a favorite color or even play off a nick name how about Miss Bea Haven.

I like the name you've been using Veronica Van Ness, it sounds classic. A name using vavoom or vixen sounds more burlesque than pinup to me. Maybe Veronica Vixen??
I'm not great at this. My name "Auburn Hills" was made up fast for a magazine submission and was inspired by my hair color and my bust. It's also a city in Michigan and a silly name for a pinup. I've grown used to it.

I really have no need for a pin up name, but last winter my husband, inspired by my headgear suggested 'Angora Tam O'Shanter'!

Of all the options you listed, I like your original Veronica van Ness the best, although van Ness is a bit difficult to say clearly without accidentally dropping the second N. Vanny seems too like fanny (which in my part of the world is a female's front bottom, not a back bottom!) and Va Voom sounds more raunchy than glamorous.

I never realised until putting some thought into this, and checking Behind the Name for inspiration, that the author Jonathan Swift invented the name Vanessa after playing around with his friend Esther's name! Interesting. He went to the same school as I did (obviously a couple of hundred years earlier than me).
What about Valentina van Ness? Vivienne van Ness? Vanessa Velvet?

Hmmm, I'm out of ideas now :)

Can I ask what lippie your wearing? It is such a lovely color. You are such a stunner :) good luck!

Thanks for all the amazing input. You came up with some great ones. I may stick with Veronica Van Ness but ViVi Van Ness is cute too. There are a couple others I thought of and you can tell me what you think. ViVi Von Roe. The last name is an obvious play on Marilyn Monroe and Von part is German and so am I so I thought it was clever. I just wonder if it flows enough, looks good enough and that it won't come off as being a copycat when I was just doing a cute play on words. There's also Veronica Von Roe or Vesper Von Roe (if you know old school James bond you'll know Vesper was a drink James Bond made up for the girl he loved, Vesper).

And the last name ides I had was since my grandmother's maiden name
is Holliday that I could do Veronica Holliday or Vivi Holliday or Vesper Holliday. Let me know what you think you guys have amazing ideas and are a huge help.
