Does anybody know if there was a height restriction to become a US Army paratrooper during World War Two. I remember reading somewhere that Audie Murphy was not quite tall enough. I have been trying to find out if there was any requirements but cant seem to locate anything on the internet. Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated.

I recall there were physical requirements, but can't tell you what they were. I'm sorry I can't be of more help.

Thank you. I was trying to figure out if there were any maximum height restrictions. I know that they would have to fit inside of a C-47 but I can't find out what the height was inside the planes. I am trying to create a character for a novel that is around the 6 foot range. I remember reading in a book called "Shifty's War" that he was 6-feet tall and he said that he was one of the tallest in the regiment.
