Do you gentlemen Feel that that inhibits the use of certain styles?

Yes - it's often too tight with brim up styles. Same hat, with the brim turned down will fit fine... which is a shame, because I like brim up.

I don't care for the crown touching my head but to achieve that I need 6"+ crown. Lower crowns like those for pork pies tend to sit too high on my head so I don't wear them often.
