Hawaiian Shirts - Aloha Shirts

Benj -- I like both of those shirts. Especially the Flat Head.

Bama -- The Nat Nast is awesome as well. Now I have something else to look out for.

Here are a couple from the DAV thrift.

Bishop St. Apparel. 100% cotton. This is the second one of this brand that I have run across.

Bai Nam ("Male Thread"?), 56% cotton / 45% polyester (giving 101% -- that's a bargain!). The RN number ties to Richard P. Murray Co. of Honolulu. Reverse print.

Thanks guys! I'm definitely a fan of Japanese repro Hawaiian shirts, I find them much more aesthetically pleasing than even the most expensive vintage stuff.

Since Bamaboots cracked the seal yesterday with his awesome Nat Nast, I thought I'd share a couple of mine.

I found this copper colored one in a local antique store a few weeks back. I gave $8 for it, not bad since the average decent thrift store shirt is often $5+ these days.

I love this bowling themed one. It's one of my favorite shirts.

And lastly, really going out on a limb of the aloha shirt family tree.....

Late 50s, early 60s Nay Nast bowler. The design on back is flocked. Kind of stiff and felt-like, not screen printed on. Some of you guys may be old enough to remember this from back in school, it was fairly common for sports team apparel up through the early 80s.

Back in the '80s I had a '60s-era shirt that read "Marshfield Casket Company" with the name "Ralph" on the front. Someone asked me if I worked there ...

I never see these in the thrifts. Sometimes at a flea-market or antique store.

Harv, I'm a big fan of the stitching too. That's why I posted the pic, but then forgot to point that out. That was before I finished my coffee.

Bob, thanks for busting out that link. I spent hours (ok, minutes) searching for it to post that shirt there, but couldn't find it again. I had pretty much given up on that one. That shirt is one I found at the thrifty maaaany years ago. I have a few I found in the cast off shops back in those days, but it's been a long time since I've seen one. E-pay has been my best resource, but often they are priced ridiculously high. I'd love to see the casket co. shirt if you have any old pics. I saw a funeral home one in a vintage store out in Austin when I lived there in the early 90s, but it was way too small for me, and way too expensive to justify buying just to collect.

Lady Bama was at Unclaimed Baggage in Scottsboro Saturday and came home with this Tasso Elba Island shirt in a really nice 75/25 silk/linen blend. Never heard of the Tasso brand except for that fine Cajun delicacy. Not a true Hawaiian shirt but I thought it fit in here.


This is not a true Hawaiian shirt but a Tru-West Rockmount with snap buttons. Couldn't resist when I found it on epay.

This is modern, I'm sure. Another sub-$4.00 flea market find.

Bama that Tasso Elba Island shirt is a pretty neat pattern. That unclaimed baggage store is a pretty neat place, too. I wish it wasn't such a drive from down here.
That Rockmount shirt is it! I love the vintage looking bronc rider graphic. That shirt rocks!

Bob, cool hot rod pattern. Great colors on that one, too.

I've got other shirts which may be a little cooler but I like these three because the play to my interest in collecting Hawaiian shirts and bold look ties. Not really sure if the neck tie ones qualify as Hawaiian, but I like them anyway.
